Wif ffourhundred mangel and wringers! And in Westminster Cathedral we’ll enjoy the Molly O’Morgan music of Marcel Dupré. Eine der besten Orgeln, wenn nicht sogar die beste Orgel auf unserem Planeten: Die Große Orgel von Aristide Cavaillé-Coll in der Pariser Kirche Saint Sulpice. Die Orgel geht auf ein Instrument aus dem Jahr 1781 von Francois-Henri Cliqout zurück. Unter Verwendung eines großen Teils des alten Pfeifenwerks baute Cavaillé-Coll im Jahre 1862 sein größtes Opus: Eine Orgel mit 100 Registern auf fünf Werken. 1934 machte die Kirchengemeine Widor zwei weitere Register (eingebaut von Mutin) zum Geschenk. Seitdem ist diese Orgel nahezu unverändert ‘im Dienst’.

Die Kirche hat eine bemerkenswerte Organistentradition. Charles-Marie Widor war 64 Jahre lang Organist an der großen Cavaillé-Coll-Orgel, ohne jemals offiziell ernannt worden zu sein, Marcel Dupré folgte ihm für 38 Jahre und der gegenwärtige Organist, Daniel Roth, ist seit nunmehr 23 Jahren im Amt.
