Auf die Hinrichtung von Ayaz Marhouni und Mahmoud Asgari* im Jahr 2005 angesprochen, erklärte ein Iranischer Minister am Rande eines Treffens zwischen Iranischen und Britischen Abgeordneten im Mai 2007 mit Hinweis auf den Islam

[...] “if homosexual activity is in private there is no problem, but those in overt activity should be executed” [he initially said tortured but changed it to executed]. He argued that homosexuality is against human nature and that humans are here to reproduce. “Homosexuals do not reproduce.” (aus timesonline).

Außerdem ist er der Ansicht, das “homosexuality was to blame for a lot of diseases such as Aids”.
