Dear All,

New homophobic scandal from Poland is coming. Now from polish section of UNESCO.

On 15 November there will be “March of Equality in Poznan” or just “Poznan Pride”.

This event in traditionally on half of November, this year 15 November (International Day of Tolerance – made by UNESCO). Most of polish media write from last feew years about this event as day made by unesco.

This year my good friend , one of pride organisers – Sergiusz Wróblewski contaced with polish UNESCO. Wróblewski officially invited polish UNESCO to be part of this event and give official patronate. They reply (translation in attachment, also Sergiusz reply). They dont want to be part of gay pride “because of controversial character of Equality March”.

So this year “International Day of Tolerance UNESCO” will be without polish UNESCO becouse they dont have enough tolerance for gays and lesbians.

Regards

Lukasz

Dear Friends,

My last sended information about “Day of King Władysław III” was here:

http://www.ukgaynews.org.uk/Archive/08/Oct/2401.htm

But it was not the end. It was just first phase (there were 3 phases).

BTW: I found many articles about my event in internet, even in Argentina http://agmagazine.com.ar/index.php?IdNot=3127  but I dont know spanish, so I dont know what they wrote.

PHASE 2

So when the City banned our march, all polish media wrote that Kaczynski distroyed our event,  but we decide to dont give up ! We checked map of Krakow, and whole program of Kaczynski visit and… we FOUND A HOLE ! We found place and time near “Wawel” Royal Hill and we registered demonstration (not march) there. It was just on the entrance to Wawel Hill. City could not bann this becouse it was on Cities land and polish constitution give us right to protest  (BTW: we discover something amazing, polish constitution dont work on Wawel Hill, it is imposible to register demontstration there without agree from Wawel administration – mostly controled by church. Interesting.)

When media wrote that ”gay demonstration” will took place real histery started. First from internet forum “fate” (http://forum.wiara.pl/viewtopic.php?t=18392&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid= f262c252c8cae715a3ce5dc6f49b205f715a3ce5dc6f49b205f). Jurnalist also found that 50 meters from our demonstration there is  cross to commemorate victims of Katyń (more about this what was Katyń in english here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn_massacre).  This is how homophobs push ex-soldiers to protest against us. (video here: http://ww6.tvp.pl/6273,20081029818635.strona)

On internet there were even a speciall union between all neonazist groups in Poland to fight with us on the street. One of femous sentence was: “We have to protect Cathedra on Wawel, heart of polish catholicism, to the last drop of our blood. Satan is coming ! “  Priest from Cathedra said that he will not let us in (first exmpl of “door selection” in polish church).

Conservatives call all idea as “incredible scandal and profanation” (we just wanna put flower on kings grave). Leftish activists call this a “genius idea” becouse we used catholic simbols against conservatives. When I spoke with police officer two days before the demonstration he ask me: “I hope you have a tank ? This is what you need to survive there just for  first 5 minutes”. All polish media wrote about this what international scandal it will be when noenazists will kill somebody. But it is not all… even in my family City Włocławek (it is over 300 km from Krakow) right wings activists started special action “Łukasz Pałucki – persona non grata in Włocławek” (!)

Police told us that we can protest on the street, but we can not go on Wawel as demonstration. If we do so they will arrest us ! This was to much for us. Blood on the streets or arrest was not our target. Our target was simbolic grave of Władysław III. So we resign from this demonstration. Then media wrote again: Gays loose.

PHASE 3

But we did not give up ! We decide to go to cathedra as turists. There was 6 of us, me and 5 activists from Association of Yout Socialdemocracy (SMS) we go with a flowers. We did not inform any media.

Security of Cathedra had already our photos. Chieff of security found us very fast. He said: “Hi, I am chieff of security”. So what ? – we answer. “Nothing I just want to say hi”.

But the best is what we found inside Cathedra. SEVEN SECURITY MEN surrounded the  grave of the King Władysław III for WHOLE DAY. They put also speciall plate: “flowers on the grave PROHIBITED”.

For feew minutes we stay with flowers oposite them. They look on us, ready to jump on us. They could not do anything before we put flowers.Officially we were just a turists. We ask then, can we put a flowers on the grave. They said: NO. We decide to be legal to the end and just stay there for a minute QUIETLY with flowers in our hand. It was our way to commemorate the king. We go out and make a photo near tha church (photo is here: http://gejowo.pl/imgLib/news/duze/Warneńczyk_duzy.jpg).

After this Catholic Church sended press release that we tried to put flowers but security stoped us on the stairs to the church. (WE SEND STATEMENT THAT THIS IS JUST A LIE, NOBODY STOPED US. WE WERE LEGAL TO THE END)

Results from this action:

1. We think that now , there is no polish who did not heard that King Władysław III was a gay

2. We start whole new way for lgbt movement in Poland, we use our culture, history to show people that gays and lesbians always were here, even during polish kingdoom.

3. We start public debate: Is patriotism only for right wing party ? Can Gays be proud of gay king ? Are national simbols reserved only for church ? On 7 November in Warsaw there will be big public debate about this.

4. We show homophobs that even if we are not strong enough to fight on the street – we are much clever, and we know our culture better than the think.

It is just the begining ! Our next target (next gay king) is someone speciall.  Action will be in Warsaw. Stay tunned !
