Those who are against us don’t understand that or refuse to. But that really is their problem. They are on the losing side of history and they know it. Their side is going down just like those so-called Christians who used the Bible to support slavery. They are going down just like Jerry Falwell and those like him who used the Bible to support segregation. They are going down just like those who used the Bible to keep black people from marrying white people. And they are going down just like those who used the Bible to force women into submission to men.
It is amazing how far things have come since the Stonewall Riots. It wasn’t all that long ago (1969). And look how far we have come. People believed that we were mentally ill. We were not. People believed that we were child predators. We were not. People believed that we would never have families. They were wrong. People believed that gays and lesbians could not have stable relationships. They were wrong. They believed that we should never be allowed to be married. And those of us lucky enough to be living in Mass. and California are now getting married. They were wrong again. And you can see the constant factor here–religious belief.
